about the vits thats good to hear, usually people aren`t aware that the freezing can deplete these vits so i like to just ask when i hear of using frozen foods. that said, you are correct about 5 feet being hard to heat, and maybe if your ig is alowed out often haveing one that is a little smaller like say 3.5 feet or something would be ok. the main reason that the depth should be larger than 30 inches is because an adult iguana would have a lot of trouble trying to turn around in a cage that shallow. but if she is not going to spend more than half of her time in the cage then a smaller depth would be acceptable because even though the depth wouldn`t be as accomodating, she would still have plenty of free roaming time to enjoy exercise. my ig is a free roaming ig, so i don`t worry about cages anymore. he lives on a basking shelf and a playcenter in my bedroom, as well as any where else he decides to visit in my room! he likes to crawl onto my bed whil i`m sleeping and stare at me! anyways, i know what you are going through trying to find info on cages. its difficult. i was planning on building my ig a cage when he outgrew his aquarium. when it ended up that he was getting stressed and not eating well in his aquarium and i had no where else to put him, not to mention the $$ to build him a cage at the time, i went to the hardware store and bought him a 4ft shelf and some pvc and let my imagination go. he seems so happy now i can`t bring myself to build him a cage, even if it is a large size. i am happy with his current setup and he is too, so for now,at least my cage building is on hold. as far as you looking for designs and such, i think i can dig up a couple of sites with designs for you to look at. i was going to build a 7`x6`x5` cage that would come apart in panels so i could take the cage with me when i moved, as we all know a cage 5` deep is not gonna fit thru a doorway! anyways, keep posting here and we`ll do our best to help ya out!!! nice talking to you and come chat with us tonight at the kingnskae chat!! =)

: : Meagan i read your post carefully.
: 1. I have all the various vitamins and sprinkle accordingly. IE. Calcium, multi-vitamin etc.
: 2.Heating an enclosure that deep is quite a feat. Please advise if you have made such a cage.
: 3. Cheek is spends alot of time outside her cage. She usually spends anlarge part of the weekend out of it and on weekdays after work I take her almost as soon as I get home from work.
: Thanks for your input 30 inches is easier to heat than 5 feet. I will consider your idea prior to building.
: Thanks Meagan!! I love this forum!!
