I haven't given up entirely on those spiney tail ig pictures...just haven't found any good ones! Found one but it's not a very good one. Surely there are ones somewhere. Or maybe someone here who has a scanner (GIANT HINT PEOPLE!) might be able to get us all some up and we can save them. This isn't the first time I've seen a question on them. Apparently the web doesn't have much on them in comparison to green igs.
Oh yes...about the "acquiring" thing. I'm down in Texas. Some people that I have been on line with "acquire" things by "herping" around outside where they live thus getting a free, altho wild caught, reptile. Sometimes people may umm accidentally get something that they maybe shouldn't have because of their State laws. Don't know anyone personally who has something considered illegal to keep but I'm sure it happens if only for a brief period. "Acquired" can also be construed to mean "liberated" from an unhealthy environment/home not necessarily with permission.
I assume you have seen the spiny tail care page at M. Kaplan's place. Until you identify for sure what you have it is probably safe to follow what is there. Welcome to the iguana forum, by the way. Happy to have you!
