Are Bromeliads safe in an iguana cage?

I just put a 12" Bromeliad in my iguana's cage. Is it safe or should I remove it? This is the same type plant that people put in dart frog terrariums.

What are good plants for iguana cages? Ones they will not eat or if they do will not harm them.

Btw the iguana is 30" long (mostly tail) in a 4' x 3' x 3' cage
