Sheesh!! We wont be able to let Dar see this post!!! We'd have a real IGomainac (LOL...I'm too clever!) on our hands!! There is another male around the house, but they almost NEVER see eachother, except when one is freeroaming and roams into the bedroom, and starts in on the other!!! Mostly it's Fondue doing the Challenging, Darwin just mostly ignores him, unless he's hanging off the screen door of his enclosure!!!!
But thanks for the info!!!
P.S. Fondue's pores are much smaller, maybe Dar is the King Ig around the house....hmmmm....

: Welcome to the Male ig life! LOL Looking in our bible for igs, your male is going through breeding season with enlarged pores. The size is sometimes based (researchers believe) on where a ig stands in the hierarchy. Their studies have shown that the large pores in males, usually show that they are in the upper order. Congrads!! You just may have a King ig!! Roll out the red carpet. Only the best greens for this guy! Also the waxy stuff is just a scent powder that they leave around their territory. There is nothing said about any need for helping them mark areas. I would say if there isn't another iguana around...chances are he doesn't feel the need to mark areas. They also said that under ultravoilet light you can see the trails where the wax was left. They believe it helps females to track males during the season. So....I think the only thing to do is learn to live with those YUCKY...LOL pores and hope they don't stay large. Hope this helps you.
