Just wanted to know what your modem speed on your laptop is? You might be able to adjust something to make it connect at a higher speed....I'll help you if I can...email me the following information:

1) your modem speed
2) speed setting in Windows program for modem
( that can be found under"Settings"control
Panel, look under modem) once you are in modem settings there should be three buttons: add, delete, and properties. Click on properties, this should open a window and show you want your modem is set on in windows.
3) what access number are you using 28.8, 56K, V90, X2? try not to use a number that has a modem speed faster then yours. You might want to check your access number and see what the setting is for the phone number.
