I think you just need to give him more time. If after only one month he is already tame and lets you handle him without a problem, I think you're doing pretty well. If he's a rescue, he's probably been mistreated by people before. Just try to be around him a lot, and avoid doing things that he seems to object to (i.e. if he doesn't like being picked up, doing do it unless you have to). Give him some time, and he may come around to liking you... and then again, he may not. :-/ Some igs, especially those who have beem mistreated, just don't enjoy human company, but many of them do! Or they do, but only after lots of kindness and patience. :-)
