:What is the most common temperament of iguanas?
It can range from calm and peaceful to full-blown human eater ;-) They are ALL different... And even then - they can change with little or no notice.
:Are females that much more docile?
Some are, some aren't. I've been around female iguanas that were really nice, and I've been around female igs that were really nasty. I've seen some that are nice to women and not men - others that were the other way around. It all depends on the individual iguana.
:How dangerous is a male iguana that is mean?
A good bite will send you to the hospital for stitches - whether the ig is a male or female. Their teeth are all the same size. "Nice" males can become more aggressive around breeding season.
:When can you tell the sex of an iguana?
When it's good and ready to tell you. 2-3 years of age seems to be the time it becomes apparrent for most iguanas. Although some may take longer.
:Please help me
There are a lot of good iguana web sites on the internet. Do a search for "iguana care" and start reading the web site with the most information.
