You already sound more responsible than 95% of people twice your age. I too know the urge to save poor condemned little pet shop iggies, and have to purposely avoid any pet shop that sells them =). I would just say read up on diet, housing, heating, etc and keep checking here for help! My theory is that if you are 13 and this far along, you will probably grow up to be another of these great resources on sites like these. I know how clueless I was at 13, and you are doing a lot better.
I don't know if you know the specifics of why people don't like buying sick little igs from pet stores, but I don't think we will throw the baby out with the bath water and crucify you for it.
