I am very sorry for your loss. When my iguana died it was the hardest day of my life. The best way to put your mind at ease is to get a necropsy. Some vets will perform one for free as it helps them to better understand situations like this.

James Hatfeild has a good section on iguana loss in his book, The Green Iguana Manual.
