My Male is Blackening....

Hi all. Back to the forum here with a new handle (used to be Leenis, but I like Keebler better!!)
anyways I have noticed my male Is somewhat going black on his backside, shoulders, and front arms. My female is a bright green. Both are fed the same thing, and are housed under the same conditions. My wife suggested that it may be a pre shedding appearance, just like a snakes eyes going blue before its shed.
Any suggestions? Should I worry?
