In the West Palm Beach area, There was a facility in Royal Palm Beach which apparently is closed. The SFCRC will take in abandoned and captured animals, but which don't have the size, time,or funding for anything large scale. Besides are main objective is the studying and conservation of Corucia zebrata.
2 suggestions:
If in the West Palm Beach Area: Contact Wild Cargo (Ron Dupont) (651) 687-5055. (Rescued herps mostly)
If elsewhere, Go to one of the Mainsearch Engines, type in Iquana adoption (what stateyour looking for) A list will appear of who to contact.
The SFCRC will not turn away an animal that otherwise has no future and will try to help if needed. But try a larger scale organization first.
Good luck with your boyfriend's project.
Sincerely,
Brian
SFCRC
