My male iguana, which is almost 3 years old now, started doing this about 6 months ago. The enclosure is HIS... I have learned to deal with it though. I get his attention, he tears over to the side of the enclosure I'm on, I distract him with something to bite, start to rub his head with it, then he closes his eyes, and I start to pet his head. I can then get a hand under his back end and spin him around so his head is facing away from me, and I can take him out. he is much better behaved once he is out...
:i have a two year old female ig - who in last week has bite me for putting my hand in cage - i can not even pick her up to bring her out - if i put hand in to touch up her bed at night or feed her she chomps on me like i am dog food to a hungry pit bull - but when she's out she's my kitten .... help - i have never heard of an ig being so protective of its cage - has my duncan (yes she's a she) gone mad? thank you for you help. karen
