It sounds like you didn't really change it so much as widen it! But changing your ig's diet in and of itself isn't bad. Maybe you heard that because iguanas are such creatures of habit, and don't like changes! Or are you having problems? But you know what's good for them, and they'll get used to it. I agree with the posts below, variety is the most important, and I am glad you took out the cucumber. It doesn't have much of anything in it.
