thanks for your reply...i had him for about a 2 months now..he is getting close to being 6 month old. I know i have a lot of work left to tame him but what you said about the shedding makes sence. He just finished and looks like he is starting again. He is growing so fast. I love it. I think he just had some few bad days cause he is back to normal now. :)

:Mike, how old is your ig, and how long have you been working with him?
:When first working on taming igs, once there has been some measurable success, there is always a bit of relapse. During that time--or those incidents--the iguana will revert back to untamed behaviors for a period of time or occasionally. In a way, they are testing their human, to see just how serious the silly biped is. ;) Just keep on working with them through this period or these incidents, and progress will once again be seen.
:For igs who are getting ready to shed, even very tame and social ones may get cranky and not want to be handled in the days leading up to the actual start of the shed.
:Crankiness can also be caused by pain or discomfort. In the absence of any visible signs of injury, causes could be due to gut obstruction or impaction (ingesta; feces; foreign object; parasites) or disease.
:If your ig doesn't start shedding, or get back on the taming progression track, then get him checked out by a reptile vet.
:You'll find information on taming and socialization in my Iguana Care, Feeding & Socialization article, on shedding in my Reptile Skin Shedding article, and more on behavior at my Green Iguana site.
:Let us know what you figure or find out!
