In Reply to: Cage- has anyone done this before? posted by girlzilla on April 02, 2003 at 07:56:20:
I would just use a pair of wire cutters. It works and they are easy to come by.
:Okay, so right now I have a large puppy crate for Bud. I'm dying to get him something bigger, but can't start building my dream enclosure quite yet.
:But puppy crates are on super low sale at a local petstore. So what I'm thinking about doing is getting another jumbo one, cutting a hole in the top of one and the bottom of the other, and stacking them so that Bud has like a little two-storey apartment. I could lash them together with zip ties, since I don't have any welding equipment.
:Has anybody ever cut through rubber-coated wire cage bars before? Should I file and snap, or would a big pair of pruning shears/ wire cutters do it? I really don't want to lose a finger. :)
:BTW, the crate is elevated, and he's a limited freeroamer (my living room and a few hallways) via his ramp.
