Hi Judy !
Glad to hear everything is going well with you and your iguana.
I can understand it may not have been easy to confrontate your old
vet with the facts he apperantly did not know as he was more or less
like a dear friend that you were grateful to.
A good vet/friend would have appriceated the new information and acknowledged
that he did not know certain things. I guess your old vet was pretending he knew
more than he did and when you embarrassed him and discovered this he reacted
in such a way that it was nothing else to do than to skip him (just like my former
German vet who showed me to the door...). Hopefully your former vet learned
something. And will study iguanas harder in the future...
;)
I guess it will take one or two weeks before she can lay comfy on her belly again
without feeling pain being stiff. And turn around on a shelf is also not easy after
a surgery like this.
My iguanas started to eat again a week after the spaying. But two years ago
it took Rex two months !!! to start eating as she started behaving like a gravid
iguana for a second round. I guess that was very unusual (doubleclutch behavior?).
Yes, I have been off-line for some time because of work and travelling.
Happy Eastern to all of you !.
:)
