::As an iguana rescue and educational group, I hear alot of people (in Virginia) tell me that they are driving their iguana to Florida to release it.
:I wrote to a newspaper and asked permission to put an article in our display, but I didn't hear anything. I and others here would appreciate something in writing that we can display at
tables. Many of us educate. People aren't being told of the harm they are causing.
Indeed, Even if S. Florida Greens survive the perils of development, incorrect, diet etc., The 20-20 rule is the tough one to break. An arborial Trophic niche Pleurodontid lizard has a tough time surviving the winters of even 25 degrees N. Latitude. In theMiami-Keys area on a good period of winters they can hang in there. Also there is alot of antipathy towards these herbivorous lizards. Many people kill them on sight down here or go out of their way to run one over with their motor vehicle.
