I agree totally that if your ig is doing well on a diet of fresh food, stick with it. The only reason Tempest has pellets available at all times, is because he maintains his weight better. He just flat out won't eat enough straight greens and veggies to keep his weight up yet, while with pellets he'll snack on them even when he's all done with his salad. As long as he gets plenty of greens into him every day, I just don't worry about ot too much yet. Hopefully some day, I can wean him off them completely though.
:A few months ago i adopted an iglet around 1 year old which was fed only in commercial pellet and he was in a very bad shape! He was pretty dehydrated and he looked intoxicated too!
:My beloved igs dont eat that!

::If your ig is eating a good salad mix there is no need for commercial food...much of it is fillers, artificial dyes, and junk. I'm not saying it is devoid of all nutrition, but you can do a lot better with a fresh diet. Dry food is very dehydrating too. People that use this now may not notice any ill side effects now, but it could cut years off the back end of your ig's life...kidney failure. They wouldn't be eating this in the wild, that is for sure. Some people use them for emergencies which I can understand, but Sleestack has never had any. I do feed some pellets to my bearded dragon when he'll take them but he still gets a varied diet of mainly veggies, live prey, and minimal pellets. Those pellets contain protein and are a bit more balanced for his diet although I'm still wary. I think he's only eaten about 2 pellets this year anyway.
