I still like the reptile fixtures I got better than some of the non-reptile ones. I'm not saying you shouldn't try it since the price is much better, but when I've had them in the past, they didn't always come on with my automatic timer...I had to do it by hand. It was something with the inner parts being cheaper. I got the bigappleherp brand fixture from their website and have been very happy with that one. It never fails to come on and a light has never burned out inside it either! I'm sure there are some shop lights that are just as good but not all. The one I have at work over my desk takes me hitting or shaking it everytime to get it to come on!
