I feed Tempest commercial pellets, adult ig food from Rep-Cal and he does very well on them. He also gets greens every day, but will leave greens to eat pellets. I have a bowl of them, dry, in his cage at all times, and I believe this is what has helped him gain weight and turn around from the neglect. I think a combination thing is fine personally, I don't know that I would feed only pellets.
Don't even get me going on the anti-commercial diet thing. After years of both small and large animal care, I still can't believe some of the garbage information that gets propagated. If your pet does well on something, as mine do on commercial foods, keep doing it.
:I'm looking for someone's opinion on commercial diets. I had a female several years ago and fed her a mixture of commercial diet and fresh greens. I'd like to give the same to my new male, but I tried when I first got but he would nothing to do with it. Thoughts?
