You are, of course, assuming that the ig lives for another week and a half. Once they start heading downhill it's oftentimes difficult to put the brakes on the train. The last few days/weeks of indifference would have meant that the ig would have been less ill than it will be if/when it finally gets to see a vet - provided that the vet chosen actually has reptile experience. Thank the parents for me. Then tell the whole family not to get another ANYTHING until such time as they are prepared to take responsibility for an animal's health and well being. Just because they aren't necessarily a large initial investment doesn't mean that iguanas suffer any less than another animal due to the blatant ignorance of it's keeper - or it's keeper's parents. Feel free to print this out and show it to them for me.... I'm glad that you seem to understand what is at stake.....
