:Yep he could be in season. Wow...good luck. It sounds like he's had a rough life. Do you have a UVB light and give him plenty of calcium rich greens like collard, mustard, turnip greens, escarole, endive, watercress, dandelion?
no UVB light yet, im considering stealing my turtles UVB light but its time to replace that one, anyway. friday we are going shopping (along with the vet trip) and i need a fixture. i wasnt all ready but i decided he was better off with Moi and right diet, etc then the dog food, etc (and without a uv light there, too) as for greens right now his salad is mostly made of up "extras" (a little brocolli, snow peas, cooked butternut squash, parsly, red&green bell peppers, a little apple, calcium)but like i said friday is a big shopping day (no school, whoohoo)
i understand the calcium rich greens as i buy them for my goldfish and turtles, just not i have to buy more =) cant wait for summer either...anyone grow a garden for fresh greens and veggies?
Sarah
btw, i took pictures, and tomarrow or friday theyll be ready to post and stuff...he was a little more calm tonight, i still wrapped my hand in a towel and held him, plus supporting his legs..but when he started twisting (after about 20 minutes of me softly talking to him and stroking his side) to try and bite me, plus lots of hiss and open mouth warnings, i thought it safer for us both for him to go back in his cage. he will come out again in a half hour or so to freeroam my bathroom in the steam while i take a shower
