I have also read in one of my MANY, LOL, iguana books that they use their dewlap to catch a breeze when hot.
Dewlaps were the first thing I look for and read about, they are just so cute.
So in my opinion it is normal.
:I've had my adopted ig for a week now & am still learning a lot about his personality & the iguana ways. Anyway, I am wondering if it is normal for the ig to bask with his dewlap out? He does that in natural sun & under his heat lamp, I am fairly certain he's not mad or stressed when he does it, his eyes are usually closed, so I am assuming it's a normal thing. Am I right - do all your igs bask with their dewlaps out???
