Your post almost makes me cry, it is so well put. I was the one who said that all the iguanas I have seen are substandard merchandise. They are. I've never seen an iguana I would buy. But I meant that designation to be secondary to an iguana's identification as a creature. Maybe there is no way to run an humane, caring petstore. In which case, the only hope is humane, caring breeding. I have seen many more good breeders than I have petstores (although not regarding iguanas, quite yet.) In any case, I am reading your post over and over.
