Anyways, males tend to be aggressive and more territorial, as well as dominant. They will seek out females, and may even inflict injuries on them.
As for 'human females' yes, they do sense your "female chemicals" especially if during a certain time of the month. You know what I mean.
As for females, well, if they have eggs they won't want anyone around. Reptiles in general do not seek each other the way mammals do. Usually it's the males who go hunting for mates.
