Maybe before you had him someone fed him improperly so he has developed a taste for this kind of thing. You are risking his health with these food items. Stick with greens and fruit...experiment with different types until you find what tempts him. Then you can mix a little of that fruit/veggie with the better ones. (collards, mustards, turnip greens, dandelion, escarole, endive, watercress, squash, snow peas, etc.)
Bugs you find outside are especially harmful as you don't know what kind of parasites they have, if they are toxic, or if they have walked through pesticide.
