The last time i mentioned anything about a heatrock on another forum we had just that and it went on for days.To me its just an option that works to keep an otherwise healthy iggy from becoming a popcicle iggy.I can see your side as well with the concerns for burns but with me if it hasnt happened yet (and i've used both heatrocks and uth and only had one burn from the uth,Not the heatrocks) chances are slim that it will happen,not saying it cant or wont but slim.I've been using heatrocks for the last 6 or 7 yrs and never a single burn on any of my lizards or snakes.I use uth as well with one burn (not a serious burn but still a burn) but dont use them as much.
