You should try to adopt an iguana instead of buying a baby one from a pet store. I just adopted my first ig, Porfi, a 4 yr old, 3 foot male from a lady in the bay area, CA who neglected him & had him in a 55 gallon fishtank! I've had him for 2 days now & he is on his way to turning into a big sweetheart.
Check out the green iguana society (link below) to see if you can fins any igs in your area. If you are from CA by some chance, I can give you more societies. Also check out Melissa Kaplans website at www.anapsid.org for info on EVERYTHING having to do with gs.
