:True enough, I just sometimes think he's maybe bored hanging out on the top shelf all the time, or doesn't realize he can go down as well as up. I use flared base dog dishes for his food, so they can't get knocked over, they work well. He definately prefers the green plastic ones over the stainless steel ones, can't say he isn't a cheap date! :)

::Just keep an eye on him and monitor his behavior. You can adjust accordingly. I put my food dishes up high (rig them so they don't get knocked over). Sleestack doesn't move around a lot when it isn't breeding season so I ensure he eats more when the food is within his view. This time of year he is up and down a gazillion times!
