Its quite simple. If you are concerned you might lose your animal, or be unable to control it or prevent it from frightening or injuring someone, don't take it.

I've trained, competed with, showed and done demos in front of thousands of people with dogs and horses, and under no circumstances will I let a dog or horse out of my control at all times. If I have concerns, even if it is right before a show, I will not use that animal. Instead of educating people, you end doing a tremendous amount of damage when something goes wrong, both to the opinion of the crowd and potentially to your pet.

If you want to have a booth, great, but contact your humane society and work with them following their guidelines at all times. Cage your igs, don't let them out for the general public, in safe, strong display cages that are locked and supervised at all times. Have cages available out of site if an ig gets anxious or upset, and needs to be taken out of the public eye. Use colour photos and posters to convey their personality, don't expect a wild animal to behave just because you love it. All you'll end up doing is promoting the fear and dislike of reptiles if one tiny thing goes wrong.

:At the Fair this summer I ordered a booth in a building about iguanas and how those iglets are sweet but grown iguanas can be problems...Well, my iguanas will love the extra attention. I'm just worried my iguanas will BITE or WHIP someone, I'd be in trouble! And I'm taking Ozzy to an elementary school to teach the youngsters. Well, Ozzy and Pancake know when to be bad-In front of lots of people, or in the car, or even in front of my boyfriend...Well iguanas aren't dumb!

:P.S.
:I'm worried that Ozzy might take a run for it at the Fair, I have an iguana harness, but don't want to use it because I might hurt her. (turns out Ozzy is a she!)
:What should I do?
