You will have to define Adult. How old are they. I have seen first hand myself and through friends that feeding protein like you do will give you igs no more than 6 to 7 yrs of life. That is quite sad when fed properly and heated properly can live over 20 yrs. Oh by the way, feeding steak to a dog is not detrimental to its life. Figs make a great snack for igs. Mine love wheat bread on occasion. 30 kingworms a week Maybe if you said a few aweek.....Good luck lyn
:No one can give you an answer on "how many years will feeding an improper diet shave off my ig's life?" You can either do what's right or always wonder once your iguana dies.
:It is important that they get UV light as well as heat. If they are only getting 2 hours of heat and UV per day, this is not enough. I would cage them for at least 8 hours so they get it then or figure out another solution that would encourage them to bask more. Free roaming can be tricky.
