Well 1st I want to thank everyone who replied to my post week ago about taming and what worked for you guys cause it is really helping me. I had my ig for about 10 days now and started the taming process last Sunday and results are already showing. Since Sunday I have been picking him up and holding him and rubbing him for 45 min a day. Giving him baths and trying to had feed him. At start he didn’t want me near him. He started to freak out as soon as I opened the cage doors but that is changing now. On Tuesday I spend time at home from work so I picked him up and gave his bath again and he was so relaxed. In the bath, which wasn’t deep and could stand on his own, I put my hand in the water and he came over and got on it and just laid there so nicely and soaked. After he had enough of the water he climbed up my arm. It was a really sweet moment for me. I felt he started to trust me. Then I held him and rubbed him again. Yesterday for the 1st time he let me get in the cage with him and let me pet him. Even ate from my hand, but still doesn’t like it when I try to pick him up though but that will come. Once I hold him he relaxes, puts his head up and enjoys the rub down he gets. Yesterday after our session I went to put him back in to his cage and he kept on climbing back in to my hand so I had to pick him up again and play with him some more till he had enough. I loved it. He has his 1st vet visit one week from this Saturday so I hope I can find out if it’s him or she and hope he is doing well. He grew so much since I got him and is nice and green and fatter.
PS; I know i still have long ways to go, but to me the changes so fare have been great :)
