I have feed all my iguanas MK diet. The only ones I have seen growth issues in were ones with pre-existing issues. Feeding the monkey chow would probably account for growth issues. Also from what I have noticed is that growth is really rapid in first year or so. Then growth will go sooo slow that all of a sudden you will notice that your iguana got huge. The only thing I can say on this issue is 1> If you have done regular vet visits with fecals then dont worry, and 2> There is always competition to be the best. Look at everything and see what makes sense to you and what is common. Remember these guys grow their entire lives as well.
Well hope i didnt talk ya into a circle!

:Hey, I have been feeding basically the MK diet for about a year and a half now since I got the first of my current two iguanas. These two (Zilla and Folgers) seem to be doing just fine on it, but aren't growing like weeds (maybe that's good, too). My only question is that I was just on the IguanaDen website, and they had this big page posted disputing the MK diet and suggesting that it causes Igs to become anorexic. Of course, they suggest that THEIR diet is just right and makes Igs grow big and healthy. All I do know is that about seven years ago when I had my first iguana, I did feed a lot of Boc Choy and some other things that Iguanaden reccomended, and that iguana grew much faster. She did, however, die at about 5 years old. Back then, you see, the Iguana manuals said I COULD feed monkey chow.
:Anyway, thanks for your imput.
