It all happend so fast I really didn't understand...he twisted and wriggled and gator rolled etc. until the cord loosened somehow and he got free of it. He's always been a Houdini type! As far as I could tell the clasp didn't break but if you use enough strength you can rip out that cord regardless I guess. The cord came free enough for his hind legs to get through...and it was tight enough in the beginning...as tight as I could get it with it not cutting off the circulation or anything!
