Yes you can paint it. If it is wood you must paint or seal it or the humidity an iguana needs will destroy it. You are going to have to let the paint cure for a while to eliminate the fumes. You can't just paint it and toss the ig back inside. Depending on what you use this is going to take a few days to a couple of weeks.
