:But it's getting to the point where he's worn a couple of nails down enough so that I'm afraid they might start to bleed

That is how it started with Bud, and I couldn't figure out how the heck he was doing it, until one day I came home and the carpet by my sliding glass balcony doors was totally ragged and bloody!

I screwed down a piece of wooden crown molding onto the doorstep over the ripped-up carpet, and that would be a lot easier on his nails, should he try again.

For the first couple of days after this happened I kept Bud closed in his cage. That worked for a while, but then he decided he wanted to roam, and started climbing the cage rungs to the top, and dropping down from the cage ceiling! Not good for a post-MBD lizard. :(

SO I gave him back his ramp, and let him roam, but I closed the blinds tight all day. I think he saw the trees and birds outside and PERHAPS his reflection, and went hormonal. If your ig hurt his nose, maybe it was from bashing into his reflection!

I think the way to fix reflective glass, besides blinds (I don't know how you can do this to your window right next to Phil!!) would be maybe to try that icy-looking see-through contact paper people sometimes put on bathroom windows. If anyone knows a better way, correct me??

I added more lighting and more height to Bud's perch in his cage; maybe that's helping too. He seems to have given up his wanderlust... for now.
