i'll try to get my hands on my friends digital camera today, i dont own this animal right now but about 1 year or so ago the only problem that has ever happened with her was her elbow swelled alot, i was not the owner than either,i told them to take the animal to the vet, but in their ignorance they never did.
to make things clear i'll give you all the whole story on this animals life....early 1999, late 1998, i remember my friends brother getting a bunch of animals, these included two iguanas, a baby boa constrictor, a bearded dragon sub adult and a tiny baby albino cornsnake. but the idiot who had these housed ALL of these animals in a 20 gallon high tank. i wasnt really into reptiles that much then but, through common sense i knew that this was wrong, very wrong. the boa started to have baggy skin and then it apparently ate the baby cornsnake (according to him). then the boa died, later on that year he gave the bearded dragon away to my other friend. leaving the man with the two iguanas,a few years went by and this guy decided to kind of "ditch" his family and moved in with his girlfriend elsewhere, he then brought the iguanas back to his origianl home for his brother to care for the iguanas. at that point the iguanas were in a 35 gallon long glass tank with cedar bedding, dry iguana food, and very little water.i knew that cedar bedding was bad for the animals then. so my friend gave them to me (this was in the early summer of 2001). but as i had many animals already my mother did not want 2 iguanas ( im 14). so my neighbors were really interested in these iguanas as family pets, so i gave them to my neighbors, they took really good care of the iguanas then, the iguanas were outside every sunny day in the summer, they had a very nice balanced diet and were doing really well, (the iguanas never grew since the beginning of the story). then in the late winter of 01 - 02 the little iguana developed large swelled elbows. i suspected MBD. so i told them to take the iguana to the vet. they kept saying "ok ok we will set up an appointment", but they never did. i wanted to help them but i could not afford the vet bill. and they were not my animals. so as summer approached the swelling started going down very slowly. the neighbors started to not care for the iguanas any more. the larger iguana died out of no where. then that summer the little one kept magically getting out of the cage every day, and ended up outdoors everyday. since i live on the water it fell into the canal one time and couldnt get out so my mom saved it, so i went to the neighbors and told them that if they couldnt care for it they shouldnt have it at all, so then it was in my possession, i gave it plenty of sunlight and a balanced diet, it was fine, but once again, still hasnt grown at all. then in the fall of 02 i gave it to my best friend, and he has had it ever since, he takes the best care of it and cares for it as if his own child.but it still hasnt grown. thats its story.
