I tried that tonight but as soon as i got close to him he bolted so i just had to settle for me sitting in the cage with him and talking to him. Any time I got close he run couple of circles around the cage and looked really stressed.
I will keep at it though and ty for your advice.

:I'd try to handle him each day for short periods...several times per day. Talk to him softly, hand feed him treats, get him to trust you aren't going to eat him!
