Hi I am currently using 1 TRex Active UV on one enclosure and 2 Powersun UVs on my other enclosure. I have owned the Trex since October 2002 and the others since November, 2002. I have had no problems with either brand and they both boast the 1 yr warranty. I do want to invest in some surge suppressor units to plug them into though, because whenever there is a surge or decrease in power they go out, but go back on approx 10 min later. That is my personal experience with them. they are 6 ft up so they do not move at all. Lyn
:from those of you who use MVB. I had a Zoomed powersun, which I thought was a good alternative to flourescent bulbs. It was knocked over when I left Edgar in the care of an iguana knowledgeable friend for a week. Don't worry, only the lighting filament was damaged, not the vapour chamber. Anywho, I want to know about the differences between brands. If anyone has a link or personal opinion about the following, it would be appreciated:
:1.) Zoomed Powersun
:2.) T-rex Active UV
:3.) Big Apple Herp's Capture the Sun
:I am thinking about going with capture the sun, or possibly t-rex. I'm not much for anything besides CHE's from zoo-med. I currently have a 24" iguana light(by zoo med) and I don't like it as much as the UV bulb. And for the record, the zoo-med bulb I had cut out a lot. Capture the Sun states their design reduces that... Anyway, I'm gonna see if I can get info form the monitor forum as well. Thanx for any info or opinions generated!!
