It will cut him up! Try to find rubber coated hardware cloth or if you can't you can go with plain hardware cloth, but he can even get injuries from that. Is he going to be outside? If he is inside, you can use glass or plexiglass, wood, melamine, etc.
Igs get to be 6ft. so make the cage 6ft. tall if you can and as wide and long as you can as well.
Don't give the petstore any money for him since they don't deserve any and they will probably just buy more iguanas that they don't take proper care of.
