:I can only assume that these bulbs are manufactured in the same manner in which the Active and PowerSun bulbs are. If such is the case, the small amount of MV is encapulated in a separate envelope from the main glass and will not escape if the bulb is broken. I've gone through over 90 bulbs now in the last 3 years and have yet to have any concerns if/when a bulb breaks.
:As for the benefits of MV bulbs, we use nothing else around here and currently have 19 bulbs in service. Make your own references from that as there are those individuals that consider anything other than "laboratory tested" results as purely anecdotal and refuse to acknowledge anything else as confirmation of possible benefit.
Mr D-Looks like you know what you're talking about and have had good experiences with these bulbs.
I've had mine on for about 7 hrs and i already see significant changes in my Iguana. His color has turned greener, he seems to be a whole lot more active, more agressive as well. He also ate more than he's ever eaten this morning.I'd say they're worth every penny.
