:Can anyone give a ball park time on how long it take to tame an ig, my little fellow is real nasty. I have been handling him daily, for about 2 weeks, but he still wigs out. He's about 8 months old, and until I got him he was not handled very much. The other night he bite the me, and drew blood. Sometimes I feel like I an being cruel, by making him be handled. I know all igs are different. I just hope there is hope for him to be tamed. He is only about 4" from snot to vent and he still got blood from me. I am concerned he will take my hand off when he gets bigger. LOL.

It could take anywhere from 3 months to 1 year to tame your iguana.Mine is the same age as yours and he is starting to calm down now.I take him out 3-4 times a day.Sometimes, I take him out and let him sit on my shoulder or head while I'm working on my computer. I usually leave him there for about an hour. I've noticed that these lenghty sessions have really helped us bond and has calmed him down considerably. Just let him hang out on you and climb all over you- should help. Good luck!
