:If it were me, I would not allow the iguana to free roam when I was not home. He could easily fall and hurt himself, etc.
You're right, but he only has access to the living room, a hallway, and the bathroom (for the tub), so the only things to climb are the couch, his cage, and a climbing branch. I don't know, it's kind of tough not to let him free-roam. I adopted him this summer, and just got a full-time job last week (I was temping after graduating college) so right now I'm saving up money for a bigger enclosure. He's currently in a jumbo puppy crate, but can DEFINATELY wriggle out between the bars!!! I figured it was better to give him a ramp to climb up and down than to let him jump out. It's definately a precarious situation.
If I ever adopt another herp, experience has taught me to have all this stuff ready for him. Bud was kind of unexpected- a friend of a roommate abandoned him in our apartment, and I fell in love. :) Not really an excuse, I know, but then again, he's never hurt himself before this carpet incident...
:I haven't tried bitter apple before. Maybe someone else has.
I don't think it would harm an iguana, but the problem isn't that he's biting, he's digging. I didn't know males did that.
:BTW I live in Maryland too!
Cool! I'm from Annapolis/work in Hanover. Let's hope for a blizzard tonight!
