a regular household light bulb is a fire hazard if not secured properly. CHE's are very safe when used with a little bit of common sense. Use a ceramic fixture not a plastic one and secure it where it cannot get against anything flammable or get knocked over. Any source of heat is a hazard if not handled correctly. Aside from that you might look into an oil filled heater. They look sort of like an old steam radiator. They are thermostatically controlled and relatively safe. However they do take up a good deal of room and you will have to rig something to keep the iguana off of it or it will burn just like a heatrock.
