I think the slow approach always works very well with igs but im afraid its too late to try it with Godzilla. When he sees that im coming close to his cage with that special look in my face, he starts to think ;"oh, oh, its bath time!" and starts to run and will hide in the highest platform or in a place where i cannot reach him.His cage is huge and my arms are not long enough! So i have to be very fast and grasb his legs before he disappear!!LOL!!Perhaps i could try the slow approach during the night when he is sleepy! But im sure as soon he realizes my true intentions he will run away again!!!The funny thing is that he just loves to take a bath but hates to get out of his cage!!Who can understand igs!!!LOL!!!

:Hey Flavia :)

:Although I am not the owner of a HUGE iguana, I'll try and help you a little with Godzilla!

:When Myka first came to me back in August she was not used to being handled or living in a cage with a semi-natural set-up. For the first while she was quite stubborn in coming out to play, bathe, or any other of her daily activities. I tried the force technique (well, not very forceful, but I tried to get her out before SHE was good and ready), and that didn't work for her at all. It just ended up upsetting her, and made her not look forward to coming out because it was always a little bit of a struggle. What I found worked for Myka was if I VERY slowly, calming, and carefully snuck her out. I'd go into her cage, stroke her, talk to her, tell her how beautiful she was, and just generally put her at ease. Once she was relaxed and her gaurd was down I would slowly slide my hand under her mid section, the whole time talking quietly to her to keep her relaxed. I'd carefully place each of her hands on me somewhere so that she had nothing to hold onto which could keep her inside the cage. Then, I'd quietly pick her up, and walk out of the cage. She'd get a little upset, but then realized "Hey, this is fun out here!" and started looking forward to play time. Now, she's so calm and so beautiful to work with, it's amazing :D I love my girl!

:Whoa, I think I rambled a bit! So anyway, try to see if the slower approach works with Godzilla! Let us now how it turns out.

:Wendy :)
