:I know lots of folks who use real tree braches or small logs to add some natural charm to their enclosures. However, it is ill-advised to cut something from a healthy tree.

:There is a process you have to do before introducing it in the terraria. If not, you can introduce mites and other small invertebrates or parasites.

:Many folks boild them in water for a while, let them dry, disinfect with bleach or Lysol, then re-boil them again. Some do it for 5 minutes, others 15. Some small pieces can be microwaved, but I dont know how safe and effective that is.

:After the second boiling, "quarantine" the log or branch in a box, and wait 24 to see if any organism comes out. If not, you can introduce it into the enclosure.

:That's how some do it. It all depends on size and sturdiness.

:Wood shelves are ok, the problem is they can be too smooth, and be hazardous for the animal to slip or lose its grip. Also, some have splinters or sharp edges, so make sure the iguana cannot hurt itself. Some people carv ridges on them to improve movement and grip.

:Ropes are cool too.

Great Advice! That's what I'll do. Thank you very much!
