I think it's the foreshortening of the pic - the lamp is actualy mounted closer than the far end of the branch, so it only looks like it is directly over the branch. It is actualy offset about 5", closer to the middle of the cage. The branches, etc, are not mounted permanently, so I can change them around :)

:The only thing that really sticks out to me is that heat lamp placement...it is kind of close. Even if you cover it, there is a potential for burns since the basking log is so close.
