:Well, it's actualy not brand new - this cage has been sitting in my back yard for the past year. I'm refinishing and fixing it up for the iglets. Here's a pic of the work in progress. I've sanded and sealed all the surfaces, and finished wiring the electrical fixtures. Now all that's left is to enclose the heat lamp in a safety cage, make a cover for the back of the newly-wired external switch, and make nice circular vent covers. I'm still debating whether or not I want to replace the entire back of the thing - it's ugly and I really don't like that rectangular vent hole! If I redo it, I'll probably make it into a fake rock wall with ledges and some small vents at the top.
:Some more branches, some fake greenery, and the cage will be ready to use. The babies got to check out their new home for the first time today while I took some photos. Cage dimensions are 3'L x 1.5'W x 2'H. It has sliding glass panes in the front, which I removed for easy access. It should last the babies for a few months. What do you think of it?
