Having her unconfined in the cabin is a bad idea - what if she gets spooked and starts thrashing around? I'm surprised you can't carry her with you in an under-the-seat type pet carrier though. I don't think I've ever heard of regulation prohibiting iguanas in the airline cabin...
If worst comes to worst and she has to be shipped in the cargo area, make sure you have her in an escape-proof styrofoam-insulated container with a few vent holes, and use a couple of 40hr heatpacks(tape 'em somewhere so she can't reach them).
