Okay first you will have to excuse me im in a MAJOR bad mood today and Helping Double D Shed is just ticking me off big time. I think most of you know double D's story, major neglect abuse, No proper lighting, 10 gallion tank, Major skin disease, MBD, hot rock burns, and amonia burns. Now I have to help Double D with her sheds or it will just set there in spots, Daily soaks, mistings, and all the proper things she needs shes getting and its really helping, but her scared spots, and spots on her previously damaged tail, her back where her spikes are suppose to be have the WORST time shedding due to the old scaring. I just dont get how the HE** someone can treat any animal they way she was. Shes got the greatest personality (most days LOL after all shes a woman HEEHEH (im a woman to just comparing her to me NO ONE ELSE LOL) I just dont get it, every time I help her with her shed I just want to find the guy/gal that had her before hand and knock the living daylights out of them.
Does anyone else do tail massage on there iggy????
After our first vet visit I was instruted by the vet to do tail massage on her as with a previouse injury her previouse TWO tail amputations she has apparently damaged atteries that go to her tail and her tail is brown half way down, Now with massage every day sometimes two times a day the brown has lessened, the underneath of the tail is turning green and we are seeing green spots in the brown area :o).
Update
Well Im thinking of cancleing her vet appt Friday, Since replacing the missing branch in her cage she is COMPLETLY herself again, not moping not hanging on the bottome of her cage. She is no longer "puffy" like she was I have only heard two more sneezes from her but both of those where when she came out from under the water. Im watching her today and if shes still "normal" I will cancle it. Just for info sake, I have NO problems taking her to the vet if needed. We are trying to buy a house so Id like to keep unnecessary vet trips down but if she has the SLIGHTEST actions like she did she will be going no question about it.
Shes defintly gained a bit of weight, she is looking so much bigger and so much healthier. She is now a pretty green with her pattern markings on her back of black, brown, and possible orange dots. She is now 23 inches long, and has gained just two inches of that in new tail growth. SHe came to us at 16 inches long on February 3. She has even regrown a missing toe nail. Her attitude is great for an iggy and is still a joy in a our life and just attaching herself to our hearts even more each day. We can not wait to move to our house (still in the loan process UGH) so that we can begin our big enclosure she deserves.
Well I have rambled enought hope you and all your iggy's are doing well.
